In 2012-2013 I ambitiously decided to sculpt a base for the Robot Nativity. I wanted it to both contain the disarray and violence of the Robot Apocalypse but also have a spiffy gilded frame around it to evoke warm feelings of Christmas. It took a long time to create, but now the Robot Nativity will come on a cast resin terrain. The outer frame is colored with gold powder integrated into the resin while the center portion is hand painted.
